About the event
We travel by our own transport for this weekend and meet in the hotel bar at 18.30 to begin our weekend.
We travel around local reserves and hotspots looking for local specialties and early migrants.
the hotel is ideally placed on the Teign estuary ideal for pre breakfast birding.
Saturday usually begins with a visit to Berry Head looking for early migrants and local specialities such as Cirl Bunting. We work our way back towards the hotel calling in at such places as Broadsands, Labrador Bay and Exminster Marshes. this all depends on what birds have been reported in the area and is very flexible.
Sunday we head in the opposite direction taking in Powderham, Topsham and Bowling Green Marsh finishing the day at Aylesbeare Common looking for Dartford Warbler. Hopefully this winter's weather will not have impacted too much on their numbers.
