Running WMBC is a Team Effort!

WMBC is run by its board of Trustees and its Executive Committee. As with all charities, the Trustees carry ultimate responsibility for every aspect of our work and so the Executive operates under authority delegated by the Trustees. However, our constitution specifically envisages a closely collaborative and mutually consultative method of working. So, while the Trustees retain responsibility for governance and policy making, policy initiatives may come from the Executive. And while the Trustees have responsibility for ensuring the financial stability of the Club, the Executive has some delegated spending authority. It is the Executive which is responsible for the day to day running of the Club under its delegated authority.
The bridge between the Executive and the Board of Trustees are the three Executive Trustees, the Club Chairperson, the Treasurer and the Secretary. The other 6 trustees are known as the Independent Trustees who may also have specific briefs e.g. for Health and Safety but may not be members of the Executive. All trustees and most members of the Executive Committee are elected by members at AGM.
Running the Club is a huge team effort. If you would like to get involved, please see the Volunteering Page.
