Volunteering at WMBC

There are lots of good ethical firms who could potentially help out our conservation and education activities.  Perhaps someone with good contacts and sales or marketing experience could persuade some firms of the benefits of sponsoring some of our work.  New high-quality hides are getting very expensive indeed, so if you could help, we’d love to hear from you. 

The activities of our branches don’t happen by themselves so if you could help, we’d love to hear from you.  Many hands make light work, so extra help would be very welcome.  Contact secretary@westmidlandbirdclub.org.uk, or go direct to a branch via the email addresses listed on the back inside cover.

We will also be looking at possible new branches before too long, so if you might want to get involved please get in touch.

Our Conservation Officer does great work but with a resurgence in planning applications some help would be greatly appreciated.  If you have planning experience, or would like to learn, we’d love to hear from you.  Please contact conservation@westmidlandbirdclub.org.uk or secretary@westmidlandbirdclub.org.uk for more information.
 

Sometimes, a major project such as a new hide, could do with someone to work through the process, gather the design brief, get quotes, work through getting planning permission and organise things during the build phase.  If you may potentially be willing to help when the next project comes up, then please let us know.

We could do with some help supporting the new website.  Technical expertise isn’t needed, but if you’re willing to assist let us know, treasurer@westmidlandbirdclub.org.uk or secretary@westmidlandbirdclub.org.uk would be delighted to see your email.

Would you be interested in helping us get a young adults group set up to encourage and help young adults who would like to get into birding?  We’d love to get a few people together who could make things happen for the next generation of young adult birders. 

Are you an experienced and ethical photographer who would be willing to share their skills and their ethical good practice ensuring the protection of birds?  If so could you volunteer to help others improve their photography? 

We have some fantastic walk leaders who help out with various events, but we’re always interested to hear from others around the four counties who may be able to help from time to time.  You don’t have to be an expert, in fact enthusiasm and a willingness to share your experience is much more important.  That said, experts are welcome too.  Get in touch and let’s have a chat.
