Tern chick ringing update
The latest round of ringing at Blithfield is as follows:
New raft 8 new colour ringed
Old raft 9 new colour ringed
3 dead chicks were found
3 2 day old chicks were seen
There are still @ 7 or so more eggs - which may or may not hatch
In total 35 birds colour ringed for 2025
We don’t plan on returning to do the final ones as some are close to fledging and it will put them at risk.
