Join a thriving community
WMBC Solihull & Warks is the newest of the club’s branches, launched in spring / summer of 2026.
We aim to offer a range of activities, including walks and conservation efforts around the Solihull & Warwickshire area, through to local indoor meetings and organised trips further afield. All activities are designed to deepen members’ understanding and appreciation of birdlife, and to make new friends.
We are a friendly bunch of birdwatchers, keen to share knowledge, participate in varied birding activities, and connect with like-minded enthusiasts across the region. Our branch committee is made up of a range of different ages and experience levels of birding and we welcome everyone to join us at our upcoming walks, regardless of age or experience.

About the Solihull & Warks Branch
The WMBC Solihull & Warks Branch aims to bring birdwatchers together to enjoy and protect the area’s rich birdlife. Primarily based around Solihull and west Warwickshire, we will visit many of the varied habitats and reserves the district is home to, welcoming everyone from beginners to experienced birders.
Meetings and Events
For outdoor enthusiasts, we organise regular walks at some of the best birdwatching locations in our wider branch area. These are usually free to attend, although some sites attract a small entrance fee if you are not a member e.g. Wildlife Trust venues.
Our walks are led by ourselves and/or local experts, and generally last between 2 and 4 hours. We like to take our time and there’s plenty of time to stop and watch the birds and wildlife. Wherever possible, we like to combine these visits with a break for coffee and cake, if a café is on site!
If you're looking to connect with fellow birders and meet new friends, please come and join us on one of our walks. Details of walks can be found on the Club’s website, Facebook page and will also be sent out to members by email if you are signed up to receive them.
We are currently on the lookout for a suitable venue that will allow us to host indoor meetings, where we hope to be able to offer talks and slideshows with birds and wildlife as the focus. Watch this space for further updates, but if you know of a suitable venue or know someone who would like to present a talk, please don’t hesitate to contact our branch chairperson at solihull@westmidlandbirdclub.org.uk

Making a Difference
As a committee, we are proud to contribute to conservation, individually supporting projects like the British Trust for Ornithology’s Breeding Bird and Wetland Bird Surveys, butterfly counts, volunteering at National Trust sites & WMBC reserves, leading the club’s Kestrels section for young birders aged 8 – 17 years old and joining Warwickshire Wildlife Trust working groups.

DATE & TIME: Field Trips on offer year round. See field trips page here and look out for trips whose title starts "Solihull & Warks Branch..."
WHERE: Field trips are organised so that we meet in a suitable location such as a reserve car park or nearby public car park. Details are given for each field trip.
PARKING: We always meet at locations where there is suitable car parking available.
