Birding for young adults

The WMBC Ospreys is a group where young adults can get together and meet up with other birders of their own generation.  There will be opportunities to go birding together and to make like minded friends at the same time.  Activities will include birding walks, opportunities to take part in bird surveys to stretch your skills, maybe get involved in some conservation work too as well as social activities.  Whether you’re a casual birder, aiming to get into conservation work or have any level of interest in wild birds, this is an opportunity for you!

Events are planned all over the region, so everyone can attend and with an event every month, there will always be something to look forward to.  The events will be led by experienced birders or conservationists so you’ll be learning as you go.

To take part, you will need to be a member of the club, but you can try it out for two sessions without becoming a club member first if you want to ’try before you buy’.  Don’t forget we have a specially discounted rate up to 23 years of age, just look for ’Next-Gen Birders’ on the join here page.

How to join and how to join in

It’s easy to join the group.  Just send an email to Ospreys@WestMidlandBirdClub.org.uk and ask to join, stating you name and age.  Our WMBC Ospreys leader will be delighted to add you to the list so you’re invited to future events.

We’ve got all sorts of events planned, whether it’s bird walks around great sites, seeing how bird surveys are done, attending a bird ringing demo, or learning a new skill.  Our experienced team will show you the best of birding activities in the West Midlands region of Warwickshire, Worcestershire, West Midlands county and Staffordshire.

It won’t just be our own reserves, there are lots of great birding spots.  Occasionally we may need to park nearby and carpool to the actual site if there’s limited parking.  It’s all about the best birding.
