About the event
We leave Highfield Rd at 0700 prompt and journey towards the picturesque Forest of Dean enjoying a short comfort stop on the way.
We travel around the area visiting places such as Parkend, New Fancy View, Cannop Pools and Symonds Yat.
We have a break at lunch time at Beechenhurst Lodge to use the facilities. Food is available here but can involve long queues so it is recommended you pack your own. There is usually a good selection of woodland birds to be seen here.
After lunch we visit Cannop Pools where Mandarin Duck can usually be found and the bird feeder provides close up views of some common species. From here we head to Symonds Yat where birds of prey usually put on a good display and we hope for excellent views of the resident Peregrines.
