New member questions

Hi , joined a few weeks back, primarily for Blithfield as it's close, but will go to the others as well.

Have to say the whole joining experience has been a little frustrating and confusing. It started off with how to get a blithfield key, not knowing who to ask and not knowing what time the office was open (I had to look elsewhere for that info). Generally people will go on a weekend for their first time, thinking they can get a key, and then find out they can't. But, eventually I asked Mark and he sent sent one through the post. But, can anyone clear the following other questions up, as it's really not made clear anywhere. 1) Membership card. Which one is actually the membership card? I was sent one via email with a long number on it, but if i then go to the members section o…

Good evening Adrian - thanks for your comments - I can answer some of them relating to Blithfield

1 - There is now no need for a car sticker at Blithfield, parking in the designated places is fine - I would steer you to some access information on the Blithfield reserve page - the “Bite Size” posts which shows how to find your way around the site. Car parking is pictured at P2 - and is the layby as you say. Please keep your membership card with you as you may need to show it to SSW staff. The membership number would be formatted like 07999

2 - The old website included the office opening hours or if needed that I can post one out - I’ll request the office hours be added back to the Blithfield details - apologies for the oversight

New Member again

Re joined about a month ago after a couple of years of not being a member.

Couple of quick questions.

I have not had anything through the post, Membership card, codes to access to the reserves ect.

Is this normal because before I got all the info sent to me through the post, if so how do I get the codes for the reserves please.

I did email admin but heard nothing back

Regards Paul

Hi Paul

Great to have you as a member again!

You have found our new website and the modern approach to having all info at your fingertips.

As part of the joining process you will have received a short series of emails that explain how to access the various benefits of being a member. For example one of them shows you how to access your member account on the website, another shows you where to find all of the reserve codes - also on the member area of the website.

Importantly as well there will be another email that provides you with the option to choose digital or paper - in terms of newsletter, annual report and membership card. We are wanting to give members the choice for either as we know that a number of members will opt for the digital option which helps the environment and also reduces costs.

If you have not had these emails then please check your junk or spam folders just in case they haven't appeared.

If you have any issues then get in touch with me at treasurer@westmidlandbirdclub.org.uk or Michael Bevan at membership@westmidlandbirdclub.org.uk
