About the Stafford Branch
The Stafford Branch brings birdwatchers together to enjoy and protect Staffordshire’s rich birdlife. Based in Stafford, we run a variety of activities across the county, welcoming everyone from beginners to experienced birders.

Meetings and Events
We host friendly indoor meetings six times a year featuring fascinating bird-related talks. With just a small entrance fee, tea, coffee, and biscuits are included – and everyone is welcome, member or not!

If you're looking to connect with fellow birders then come along to our occasional coffee mornings - meet new friends, followed by a visit to a local birding site.
For outdoor enthusiasts, we organise monthly field trips to some of Staffordshire’s best birdwatching locations. These are free to attend, and we carpool to make it easy for everyone to join in.

Take a look at the club field trips page where any Stafford Branch field trips will be highlighted and can be booked online.
Making a Difference
We’re proud to contribute to conservation, supporting projects like breeding bird surveys on Cannock Chase and installing nest boxes and benches across the county.
Get Involved!
Stay informed about our events through the Club Newsletter, emails, the website, and social media. Whether you’re looking to learn, explore, or contribute to conservation, the Stafford Branch has something for you.

Help us Grow the WMBC Network
We’re looking to expand our network of local branches.

If you’re interested in setting up a new branch in your area, or could help revive our previously thriving Kidderminster or Solihull branches, we’d love to hear from you.

These groups made a huge contribution to our community before pausing due to changes in local organisation. With the right people involved, we know they could flourish once again. If you have some time, ideas, or just want to know what’s involved, please get in touch, by emailing our secretary, Don Ainsworth at secretary@westmidlandbirdclub.org.uk.

We’ll support you every step of the way.
